MUSIC AURAL
Lessons in the art of listening and responding to music are recognised as an important part of any musician's education. Without the ability to internalise sounds and understand how they relate to one another, it becomes impossible to respond to music fully, whether as a performer or indeed any other practitioner.
Claire is able to offer a structured plan of lessons which will take your current musical knowledge and combine this with effective listening tasks in order to make the important connections with what you understand and what you hear, so that aural tasks are no longer so unmanagable. She is also able to combine this with practice and tuition in graded aural tasks to Grade 8 level and beyond should you wish to work towards a practical music examination.
We approached Claire, on two recommendations, to help with preparation for the scary aural part of a grade 2 clarinet exam. Claire was friendly, kind, patient, encouraging and enthusiastic. We couldn't ask for more.
Amanda and Neve.
I started lessons with Claire on recommendation, to help improve my aural skills. I found that the lessons were adapted to suit my specific needs, and were always fun and interactive. Claire herself is very friendly and encouraging, with a very enthusiastic approach to music.
